THE WHY? IT's A LONG STORY...
Sam Reetz is a writer, actor and media maker. Perceiving a gap in the generational portraits of millennials and seniors in the mainstream, she founded Millennial Ethics to use digital storytelling to rethink the status quo. Influenced by her background in anthropology, her work explores the intersection of media, society, and culture with impact fiction. Having gotten her start with stints in publicity (The Brass Teapot), development (Atlantic Pictures), and post-production (Roadside Entertainment), she has been recognized as a screenwriter, actor, and creative producer by international programmers on the independent film festival circuit from California to Canada and was named a 2018 Global People’s Fellow in partnership with the President’s Office of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. Current projects include: Probable Cause, an immersive take on traffic stop hit rates in Trump’s America, Saudade, a musical biopic on Brazil’s 1960’s Tropicália movement, Just A Second, a serialized episodic on New York’s youth shelter system, and a scripted comedy series about what’s overheard on presidential campaign trails. She is a proud member of: NALIP, Jericho Project’s Young Professionals Council (Co-Chair), HRTS Associates NY (Board Member), Ladies of Comedy Association (NY Board Member), NYWIFT, and the Made in NY Media Center/IFP. When not on-set, she mentors a rising tide of strong female voices in media and entertainment with Cutter Connections. Originally from the Sunshine State, Sam is New York-based and a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and Wadham College/University of Oxford.
